Deposit-return containers are separately administered by Returpack/Pantamera under the 2022 Packaging Ordinance, with regulatory oversight held by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket) since 1 January 2023. Current deposit values — 2 SEK for cans and PET bottles up to 1 litre, 3 SEK for bottles over 1 litre (2025) — must be printed or embossed on-pack.
